Gen. xlvii, 23-25. Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land. And it shall come to pass, in the increase, that ye shall give the fifth part unto Pharaoh; and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones. And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we

will be Pharaoh's servants.

2 Kings xv, 19, 20. And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand. REBELLION FORBIDDEN.

1 Sam. xv, 23. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry: because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Prov. xvii, 11. An evil man seeketh only rebellion; therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.

LOYALTY.

1 Sam. xxiv, 4-7, 9, 12, 13.
