earth—the spot of deepest interest to him, spiritually
and historically. And may we not consider it as
such from the missionary point of view also ?

It was from the Mount of Olives that the apostolic commission was given by the great Head ere He left the Church Militant and joined the Church Triumphant in the skies—that commission which is still the key-note of our Church Missionary work : “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.”
