3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a fon.

4 And the LORD faid unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the houfe of Jehu, and will caufe to cease the kingdom of the house of Ifrael.

5 And it fhall come to pafs at that day, that I will break the bow of Ifrael in the

7 But 1 will have mercy upon the house

8 Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhs mah, the conceived and bare a fon.

9 Then faid God, Call his name Lo-ammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

10 Yet the number of the children of Ifrael thall be as the fand of the fea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it fhall come to pafs, that in the place where it was faid unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be faid unto them, Te are the fons of the living God.

11 Then fhall the children of Judah and the children of Ifrael be gathered together, and appoint themfelves one head, and they that? come up out of the land: for great ball be the day of Jezreel.

19 And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteoufnefs, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

2 So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of filver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley:

3 And I faid unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou fhalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be for another man: fo will I also be for thee.

4 For the children of Ifrael fhall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a facrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and with out teraphim:

13 They facrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incenfe upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters thall commit whoredom, and your poules fhall commit adultery.

14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your fpoufes when they commit adultery: for themselves are feparated with whores, and they facrifice with harlots: there ore the people that doth not underftand fhall fall.

15 Though thou, Ifrael, play the haric,

yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor (wear, The LORD liveth.

8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Beth-aven, after thee, O Benjamin.

9 Ephraim fhall be defolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Ifrael have I made known that which thall surely be.

2 After two days will he revive us in the third day he will raife us up, and we thail live in his fight.

3 Then thall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he thall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

40 Ephraim, what fhall I do unto thee! O Judah, what thall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as the morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

5 Therefore have 1 hewed them by the prophets; I have flain them by the words of my month: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth."

6 For I defired mercy, and not facrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

7 But they, like men, have tranfgreffed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

Thy calf, O Samaria, hath caft thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: How long will it be ere they attain to innocency! 6 For from Ifrael was it alto: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of samaria fhall be broken in pieces.
