Ifrael numbered. than, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram which were tamous in the congre. gation, who ftrove againit Mofes and againit Aaron in the company of Korah, when they ftrove against the LORD:

Chap. xxvi. Midianitish woman, in the fight of Mofes, and in the fight of all the congregation of the children of Ifrael, who were weeping before the door of the cabernacle of the congregacion. 7 And when Phinehas, the fon of Fleazar, the fon of Aaron the prieft, faw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;

And he went after the man of Ifrael into the tent, and thruft both of them through, the man of Ifrael, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was ftayed from the children of Ifrael."

9 And thofe that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

109 And the LOR pfpake unto Mofes,faying, 11 Phinehas, the ion of Eleazar, the fon of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Ifrael, (while he was zealous for my fake among them,) that I confumed not the children of Ifrael in my jealoufy.

12 Wherefore fay, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace.

13 And he shall have it, and his feed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priethood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the chil dren or Ifrael.

14 Now the name of the Ifraelite that was flain, even that was flain with the Midianitith woman, ras Zimri, the fon of Salu, a prince of a chief houfe among the Simeonites. 15 And the name of the Midianitish wo. man that was flain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chiet houfe in Midian.

16 And the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying,

17 Vex the Midianites, and fmite them: 18 For they vex you with their wiles, wher with they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their fifter, which was flain in the day of the plague for Peor's fake.

CHAP. XXVI. 1 Ifrael numbered. 52 The inheritance of the land divided.

A the LORD (pake unto Mofes, and unto ND it came to pafs after the plague, that Eleazar the fog of Aaron the priest, faying, 2 Take the fum of all the congregation of the children of Ifrael, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their father's house, all that are able to go to war in Ifrael.

3 And Mofes and Eleazar ti e prieft fpake with them in the plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho, faying,

4 Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Mofes and the children of Ifrael, which went forth out of the land of Egypt. 5 Reuben, the eldeft fon of Ifrael: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites of Phallu, the family of the Palluires:

6 Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

7 Thefe are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and feven hundred end thirty.

8 And the fons of Phallu; Eliab.

9 And the fors of Eliab; Nemuel, and Da.

10 And the earth opened her mouth, and fwallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the hire devoured wo hundred and firty men: and they became a fign.

11 Notwithstanding, the children of Korah died not.

12 The fons of Simeon, after their fami lies: of Nemuel, the family of the Neme elites of Jamin, the family of the jamiinites: of Jachin, he family of the Jachini.es:

13 Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.

14 Thefe are the tamilies of the Simeon. ites, twenty and two thousand and two hun dred. 15 The children of Gad, after their fa milies of Zephon, the family of the Ze phonites of Haggai, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni,/e family of the Shunites: 16 Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites, of Eri, the family of the Frites:

17 Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: or Areli, the family of the Arelites.

18 Thefe are the families of the childres of Gad, according to thofe that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred. 19 The fons of Judah were brand Onan; and Fr and Onan died is the land of Canaan. 20 And the fons of Judah, after their ta milies, were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites of Pharez, the family or the Phar zites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites:

21 And the fons of Pharez were; or He ron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.

22 There are the families of Judah, according to thofe that were numbered of them, threefcore and fixteen thousand and five hundred.

23 of the fons of IfTachar, after their fa milies of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:

24 Of Jashub, the family of the Jafhubites: of Shimron, the family of the Stimronites.

25 These are the families of Iffachar, according to thofe that were numbered of them, threefcore and four thousand and three hundred.

24 of the fons of Zebulun, after their families of Sered, the family of the Sard ites: of Flon, the family of the Flonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.

27 Thele are the families of the Zebylunites, according to thofe that were nummberea of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.

28 The fons of Jofeph, after their families, were Manaffeh and phraim.

29 Of the fons of Mananch: of Machir, the family of the Machiries: and Machir begat (head of Gilead come the family of the Cileadites.

30 Thefe are the fons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:

31 And of Afriel, the family of the Afrielites and of Shechem, the family of the she chemites:

33 And Zelophehad the fon of Hepher had no fons, but daughters and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mah. lah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. 34 Thefe are the families of Manaffeh, and thofe that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and feven hundred.

35¶Thefe are the tons of Ephraim, after their families of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.

36 And thefe are the fons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the ranites.

37 Thefe are the families of the fons of Fphraim, according to thofe that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the fons of Jofeph after their families.

38 The fons of Benjamin, after their famílies: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Athbel, the family of the Afhbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:

39 Of Shupham, the famuy of the Shuphamites of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.

40 And the fons of Bela were Ard and Naaman of Ard, the family or the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.

41 Thefe are the fons of Benjamin, after their families and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and fix hundred.

42 Thefe are the fons of Dan, after their families of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan, after their families.

43 All the families of the shuhamites, according to thofe that were numbered of them, were threefcore and four thousand and four hundred.

44 Of the children of Afher, after their faniilies of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites of Jefui, the family of the Jefuites : of Beriah, the family or the Beriites.

45 Of the fons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.

46 And the name of the daughter of Ather was Sarah.

47 Thefe are the families of the fons of Afher, according to thofe that were numbered of them, who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

48f the fons of Naphtali, after their families of Jahzeel, the family of the Jah geelites of Guni, the family of the Gunites: 49 Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shiflemites.

50 These are the families of Naphtali, according to their families and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.

SI Thefe were the numbered of the children of Ifrael, fix hundred thousand and a thousand feven hundred and thirty.

52 And the LORD spake unto Mofes, faying,

53nto thefe the land fhall be divided for an inheritance, according to the number of

names.

54 To many thou shalt give the more inher(ance, and to few thou shalt give the lets

inheritance: to every one thall his inberit ance be given, according to those that were numbered of him.

55 Notwithitanding, the land fhall be di vided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fachers they shall inherit.

56 According to the lot thall the poffeffion thereof be divided between many and tew.. $7¶ And these are they that were num bered of the Levites, after their families of Gershon, the family of the certhonites of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the tamily of the Merarites.

58 These are the families or the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mablies, the family of the Muthies, the family of the Korathi.es: and Kohath begat Amram.

59 And the name of Amram's wite was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom ber mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and the bare unto Amram Aaron, and Moles, and Miriam their fifter.

fo And unto Aaron was born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 61 And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered ftrange fire before the LORD.

62 And thofe that were numbered of them were twenty and three thoufand, all males from a month old and upward for they were not numbered among the children of Ifrael, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Ifrael

63 Thefe are they that were numbered by Mofes and Fleazar the priest, who num bered the children of Ifrael in the plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho.

64 But among these there was not a man of them whom Moes and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Ifrael in the wilderness of Sinai.

65 For the LORD had faid of them, They was not left a man of them, fave Caleb the. fhall furely die in the wilderness. And there fon of Jephunneh, and Joflua the fon of Nun. CHAP. XXVII.

6 The law of inheritance. 12 Mofes, being told of his death, fueth for a fucceffor: 18 Jofua appointed to succeed him.

THEN came the daughters of Zelophehad,

the fon of Hepher, the fon of Gilead, the fon of Machir, the fon of Manaffeh, of the families of Manaffeh the fon of Jofeph : and thefe are the names of his daughters Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.

2 And they flood before Mofes, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tas bernacle of the congregation, faying,

3 Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themfelves together against the LORD in the company of Korah; but died in his own fin, and had no fons.

4 Why fhould the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no fon? Give unto us therefore a poffeffion among the brethren of our father.

5 And Moles brought their caufe before the LORD.

6And the LORD spake unto Mofes, faying,

Divers offerings at feaf:Inheritance among their father's brethren; year without fpot, day by day, for a continua and thou shalt caule the inheritance of their burnt-oftting. father to pass unto them.

8 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Ifrael, faying, If a man die, and have no fon, then ye thall caufe his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.

9 And if he have no daughter, then ye thall give his inheritance unto his brethren.

10 And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's bre. Thren.

And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinf. man that is next to him of his family, and he thall poffefs it: and it shall be unto the children of Ifrael a statute of juigment; as the LORD commanded Moles.

12 And the LORD fai unto Mofes, Get thee up into this mount Abarim, and fee the land which I have given unto the children of Ifrael.

13 And when thou haft seen it, thou alfo halt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered.

14 For ye rebelled againft my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the frite of the congregation, to fanétify me at the water before their eyes: that is the water of Meriban in Kadeth in the wilderness of Zin.

15¶And Mofes fpake unto the LORD, faying,

16 Let the Loan, the God of the spirits of all flesh, fet a man over the congregation,

17 Which may go out before them, and which may go in before them, and which may lead them out, and which may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be no as theep which have no fhepherd.

18 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Take thee lofhus the fon of Nun, a man in whom is the piria, and lay thine hand upon him;

19 And fet him before Fleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their fight.

20 And thou shalt put fome of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Ifrael may be onedient.

21 And he thall ftand before Fleazar the priest, who fhall ask counsel for him, after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word fhall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Ifrael with him, even all the congregation.

22 And Mofes did as the LORD command. ert him: and he took Joshua, and fet him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation.

23 And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge; as the LORD commanded by the hand of Mofes.

CHAP. XXVIII. ufferings to be observed. 3 The continual burnt-fering.

4 The one lamb fhalt thou offer in the morn. ing, and the other lamb thalt thou offer at even

5 And a tenth part of an ephah of flour form meat-offering, mingled with the fourth pare of an hin of beaten oi!

6 It is a continual burnt-offering, which was ordained in mount Sinai for a fweet ia vour, a facrifice made by fire unto the LORD.

7 And the drink-offering thercof ball be the fourth part of an hin for the oue lamb: in the holy place thalt thou caufe the ftrong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink. offering.

8 And the other lamb fhalt thou offer at even as the meat-offering of the morning, and as the drink-offering thereof, thou shale offer it, a facrifice made by fire of a tweet favour unto the LORD.

9 And on the fabbath-day, two lambs of the first year without fpot, and two tenthdeals of Hour for a meat-offering, mingled with oil, and the drink-offering thereof.

10 This is the burnt-ottering of every fh. bath, beside the continual burnt-offering, and his drink-offering

11And in the beginnings of your months ye shall offer a burnt-offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks and one ram, feven lambs of the first year without fpot;

12 And three enth-deals of flour for a meat-offering, mingled with oil, for one bul. lock; and two tenth- leals of flour for a meat. offering, mingled with oil, for one ram;

13 And a feveral tenth-deal of flour, mingled with oil, for a meat-ot ring, unto one lamb; for a burnt-offering of a sweet favour, a facrifice made by tire unto the LORD.

14 And their drinksofterings thall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb this is the burns-offer. ing of every month throughout the months of the year.

15 And one kid of the goats for a fin-offer. ing unto the LORD fhall be offered, befides the continual burnt-ontering, and his drink. offering.

16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the paifover of the LORD.

17 And in the 6fteenth day of this month the feat feven days hall unleavened bread be eaten.

18 In the first day fall be an holy convo cation; ye shall do no man er offervite work therein.

19 But ye fhall offer a facrifice made by fire, fara burnt-offering unto the LORD; two young bullocks, and one ram, and feven lambs of the first year: they shall be unto you without blemish.

20 And their mea.-offering fall be of flour mingled with oil: three tenth deals thall ye

25 And on the feventh day ye thall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no fervile work.

26 Alfo in the day of the firft-fruits, when ye bring a new meat-offering unto the LORD, after your weeks be out, ye fhall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no fervile work.

27 But ye thall offer the burnt-offering for a fweet favour unto the LORD: two young 'bullocks, one ram, feven lambs of the firit year;

28 And their meat-offering of flour mingled with oil, three tenth-deals unto one bul. lock, two tenth deals unto one ram,

29 A feveral tenth-deal unto one iamb, throughout the seven lambs;

30 and one kid of the goats, to make an atonement for you.

31 Ye thall offer them besides the continual burnt-offering, and his meat-offering, (they shall be unto you without blemish,) and their drink-offerings. CHAP.

XXIX.

1 The offering at the feaft of trumpets,

at

the day of affitting their fouls, 12 and on
the eight days of the feaft of tabernacles.

AND in the feventh month, on the first day
of the month, ye shall have an holy con-
vocation: ye shall do no fervile work; it is
a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.

2 And ye thall offer a burnt-offering for a fwee: favour unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and feven lambs of the firft year without blemish:

3 And their meat-uffering fall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth-deals for a bullock, and two tenth-deals for a ram,

4 And one tenth-deal for one lamb, throughout the feven lambs;

And one kid or the goats for a fin-offer Ing, to make an atonement for you:

Beside the burnt-offering of the month,and his meat-offering,and the daily burnt-offering, and his meat-offering, and their drink-offerings, according unto their manner, for afweet favour, a facrifice made by fire unto the LORD. 7And ye fhall have on the tenth day of this feventh month an holy convocation; and ye thall afflict your fouls: ye shall not do any work therein.

8 But ye thall offer a burnt-offering unto the LORD fora fweer favour; one young bullock, one ram, and feven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish. 9 And their meat-ottering fall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth-deals to a bullock, and two tenth-deals to one ram,

with their offerings, Sc. two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year; they thall be without blemish:

14 And their meat-offering all be of flour. mingled with oil, three tenth-deals unto every bullock of the thirteen bullocks, two tenth-deals to each ram of the two rams,

22 And one goat for a fin-offering, befide the continual burnt-offering, and his meat.

23 And on the fourth day ten bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the firft year without ble nith:

27 And heir meat-offering, and their drink. offerings, for the bullocks, for the rams, and forthe lambs, ball be according to their num ber, after the manner;

28 And one goat for a fin-offering, befide
the continual burnt-offering, and his meat-
offering, and his drink-offering.

29 And on the fixth day eight bullocks,
year without blemish :
two rams, and fourteen lambs of the firft

30 And their meat-offering, and their drink-offerings, tor the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, all be according to their number, after the manner;

31 And one goat for a fin-offering, befide ing, and his drink-offering. the continual burnt-offering, his meat-offer

32 And on the feventh day feven bullocks, two rams, and fourteen lambs of the first year without blemish :

33 And their meat-offering, and their drink-offerings, for the bullocks, for the rams, and for the lambs, fall be according to their number, after the manner;

34 And one goat for a fin-offering, befide the continual burnt-offering, his meat-offering, and his drink-offering.

35 On the eighth day ye shall have afolema affembly; ye shall do no ferviie work therein. 36 But ye shall offer a burnt-offering, a fa

Chap. xxx, xxxi. facrifice made by fire, of a fweet favour unto the LORD; one bullock, one ran, feven lambs of the first year without blemish:

37 Their meat-offering, and their drink of. ferings, for the bullock, for the ram, and for the lambs, fall be according to their nus. ber, after the manner;

38 And one goat for a fin-offering, befide the continual burnt-offering, and his meatoffering, and his drink-offering.

39 Thefe things ye thali do unto the LORD in your fet feafts, besides your vows, and your free-will-offerings, for your burnt-offerings, and for your meat-offerings, and for your drink-offerings, and for your peace-offerings. 40 And Mofes told the children of Ifrael

according to all that the LORD commanded Moles.

14 But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day o day; then he estab litheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.

15 But if he fhall any ways make them void, after that he hath heard them; then he thall bear her iniquity.

16 These are the itatutes which the LORD commanded Mofes, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house. CHAP. XXXI.

The Midianites fpoiled, and Balaam fair. AND the LORD ipake unto Mofes, faying.

Avenge the children of Ifrael of the Midianites, afterward thalt thou be gathered unto thy people.

3 And Mofes fpake unto the people, saying, Arm fome of yourselves unto the war, and let the LORD of Midian.

AND Mofes (pake unto children of off set, then go again the Midianites, and avenge

tribes concerning the children of Ifrael, faying, This is the thing which the LORD kath commanded.

2 If a man yow a vow unto the LORD, or fwear an oath to bind his foul with a bond; he thall not break his word, he shall do ac cording to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

3 If a woman alfo vow a vow unto the Lox, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father's house in her youth;

4 And her father hear her vow and her bond wherewith the hath bound her foul, and her father thall hold his peace at her: then all her vows shall ftand, and every bond wherewith the hath bound her foul thall ftand.

5 But if her father difallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds, wherewith the hath bound her foul, thall ta id: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father difallowed her.

6 And if the had at all an husband when the vowed, or uttered aught out of her lips, wherewith the bound her foul;

7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows thall stand, and her bonds where with the bound her foul thall ftand.

8 Bat if her husband difallow her on the day that he heard it, then he thall make her vow which the vowed, and that which the uttered with her lips, wherewith the bound her foul, of none effect: and the LORD fhall forgive her.

9 But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their fouls, fhall stand against her.

10 And if the vowed in her husband's house, or bound her foul by a bond with an bath;

And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and lifallowed her not; then all her vows fhall ftand, and every bond wherewith the bound her foul tham tand.

12 But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her foul, shall not ftand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD fhall for give her.

13 Every vow, and every binding oath to affict the foul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

4 Of every tribe a thoufand, throughout all the tribes of firael, thall ye (end to the war.

5 So there were delivered out of the thou fands of Ifrael, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

6 And Mofes fent them to the war, a thou fand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the fon of Fleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy inftruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.

7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Mofes; and they flew all the males.

8 And they flew the kings of Midian, be fide the rest of them that were dain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam alfo, the fon of Beor, they flew with the fword.

9 And the children of Ifrael took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the foil of all their cattle, and all their focks, and all their goods.

10 And hey burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly cattles, with fire.

11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beats.

12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the (poil, unto Mofes, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Ifrael, un o the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan, near Jericho.

13 And Mofes, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.

14 And Mofes was wroth with the officers of the hott, with the caprains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.

15 And Mofes faid unto them, Have ye faved all the women alive?

16 Behold, thefe caused the children of If. rael, through the counsel of Ralaam, to com. mit refpafs against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.

17 Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.

18 But all the women-children that have not known. aman by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. 19 And
