20 And when the difciples faw it, they marvelled, faying, How foon is the fig tree withered away!

21 Jesus answered and faid unto them, Ve rily Iay unto you, 1: ye have faith, and doubt not, y shall not only do this which is done

35 And the bulbandmen took his fervants, and beat one, and killed another, and ftoned

36 Again, he fent other fervants more than the firit. and they did unto them likewife. 37 But laft of all he fent unto them his fon, faying, They will reverence my fon.

38 But when the husbandmen faw the fon, they fand among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us feize on his inheritance.

39 And they caught him, and caft him out of the vineyard, and flew bim.

40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husban imen ?

41 They fay unto him, He will miferably defroy thole wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other hufbandmen, which thall ren der him the fruits in their feafons.

CHAP. XXIII.

THEN ipake lefus to the multitude, and to his difciples,

3 All therefore whatfoever they bid you obferve, that obferve and do? but do not ye after their works: for they fay, and do not.

5 But all their works they do for to be feen of men; they make broad their phy lacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6 And love the uppermoft rooms at feafts, and the chief feats in the fynagogues,

7. And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Mafter, even Chrift; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called mafters: for one is your Mafter, even Chrift.

it But he that is greatest among you shall be your fervant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himfelt shall be abafed; and he that thall humble himself fall be exalted.

13¶ But woe unto you, fcribes and Pharifees, hypocrites! for ye thut up the kingdoni of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither fuffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, fcribes and Pharifees, hy. pocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

27 Woe unto you, fcribes and Pharifees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited fepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleannefs.

28 Even fo ye alfo outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrify and iniquity.

29 Woe unto you, fcribes and Pharifees, hypocrites! becaufe ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the fepulchres of the righteous,

30 And fay, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto your felves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your

fathers.

33 Ye ferpents, ye generation of vipers! how can ye efcape the damnation of hell:

3+ Wherefore, behold, I fend unto you prophets, and wife men, and feribes; and fome of them ye thall kill and crucify; and Some of them thall ye fcourge in your fynagogues, and perfecute them trom city to city:

37 O Jerufalem, Jerufalem, thou that kill eft the prophets, and ftoneft them which are fent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

38 Behold, your houfe is left unto you defolate.

39 For I fay unto you, Ye fhall not fee me henceforth, till ye thall fay, Bleffed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

CHAP. XXIV.

1 The deftruction of the temple foretold.

And ye shall hear of wars, and rumours of wars: fee that ye be not troubled: for all the things mutt come to pass, but the end is not yet,

23 Then if any man thall fay unto you, Lo, here is Chrift, or there; believe it not.

24 For there thall arife falfe Chrifts, and falfe prophets, and thall fhew great figns and wonders; infomuch that (if it were posible) they shall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, I have told you before.

26 Wherefore if they fhall fay unto you, Behold, he is in the defert; go not forth: behold, be is in the fecret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the eaft. and fhineth even unto the weft; fo thall alfo the coming of the Son of Man be.

28 For wherefoever the carcafs is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of thofe days fhall the fun be darkened, and, the moon thall not give her light, and the ftars fhall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken :

30 And then thall appear the fign of the Son of man in heaven: and then fhall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they thall fee the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

32 Now learn a parable of the fig-tree: When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that fummer is nigh.

45 Who then is a faithful and wife fervant, whom his lord hath made rule: over his household, to give them meat in duc feafon? 46 Bleffed is that fervant whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find fo doing.

47 Verily I fay unto you, That he thall make him ruler over all his goods.

48 But and it that evil fervant fhall fay in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

49 And thall begin to fmite his fellow-fervants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that fervant fhall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

51 And thall cut him afunder, and appoint bim his portion with the hypocrites: there fhall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

CHAP. XXV.

The parable of the ten virgins, 14 and of the talents. 31 Alfo the defeription of the laft judgment.

HEN the kingdom of heaven be

2 And five of them were wife, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wife took oil in their veffels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all flumbered and dept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Then all thofe virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish faid unto the wife, Give of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wife anfw red, faying, Not fo; leftthere be not enough for us and you:

but go ye rather to them that fell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bride. groom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the

door was that.

11 Afterward came alfo the other virgins, faying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he anfwered and faid, Verily I fay unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who call ed his owr fervants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his feveral ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five ta lents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

17 And likewife he that bad received two, he alfo gained other two.

18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. 19 After a long time the lord of thofe fervants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And fo he that had received five talents came, and brought other five talents, faying, Lord, thou delivere it unto me five talents: behold, I have gained befides them five talents more.

21 His lord faid unto him, well done, thou good and farthrul fervant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came, and faid, Lord, thou deliveredit unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents befides them.

23 His Lord faid unto him, Well done, good and faithful fervant; thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came, and faid, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou haft not fown, and gathering where

thou haft not strewed:

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid

thy talent in the earth; lo, there thou haft that is thine.

26 His lord anfwered and faid unto him, Thou wicked and lothful fervant, thou knewest that I reap where I fowed not, zad gather where I have not strewed;

27 Thou oughteft therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with ufury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath fhall be given, and he fhall have abundance; but from him that hath not, thall be taken away even that which he hath.
