AND as he went out of the temple, one of his difciples faith unto him, Mafter, fee what manner of ftones, and what buildings are bere!

2 And Jefus anfwering fald unto him, seeft thou there great buildings? there thail not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3 And as he fat upon the mount of Olives, over agamit the temple, Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, afked him privately, 4 Tell us, when thall these things be? and what ball be the fign when all these things hall be fulfilled?

5 And Jefus anfwering them, began to fay, Take heed let any man deceive you.

6 For many thall come in my name, fay. ing, I am Chri; and fhall deceive many.

7 And when ye thall hear of wars, and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for Juch things mutt needs be; but the end fall not be yet.

8 For nation fhall rife against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there fhail be earthquakes in divers places, and there fhall be famines and troubles: thefe are the beginnings of forrows.

9 But take heed to yourfelves: for they thall deliver you up to councils; and in the fynagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye hall be brought before rulers and kings for my fake, for a teftimony against them.

10 And the gofpel mult first be published among all nations.

11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye thall fpeak, neither do ye premeditate; but whatfoever thall be given you in that hour, that fpeak ye: for it is not ye that fpeak, but the Holy Ghott.

28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branches is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that fummer is near:

29 So ye, in like manner, when ye fhalt fee these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

30 Verily I fay unto you, That this generation thall not país till all these things be done.

31 Heaven and earth fhall pafs away: but my words thall not pass away.

32 But of that day, and that hour, know. eth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33 Take ye heed, watch and pray for ye know not when the time is.

34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his houfe, and gave authority to his fervants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

35 Watch ye therefore; for ye know not when the mafter of the houfe cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cock-crowing, or in the morning;,

36 Left coming fuddenly, he find you fleeping.

37 And what I say unto you, I say unto all, Watch.

AFTER two days was the feaf of the paffover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the feribes fought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

2 But they faid, Not on the feaft-day, left there be an uproar of the people.

3 And being in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, as he fat at meat, there came a woman, having an alabaster-box of ointment of spikenard, very precious, and the brake the box, and poured it on his head.

2 And Pilate aiked him, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he anfwering, faid unto him, Thou fayeft it.

3 And the chief priefts accused him of many things; but he answered nothing. 4 And Pilate aiked him again, faymg, As fwerent thou nothing? behold how many things they witnefs against thee.

But Jefus yet antwered nothing; fo the Pilate marvelled.

6 Now at that feaft he releafed unto them one prifoner, whomfoever they defired.

12 And Pilate anfwered and faid again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews!

15 And Jo Pilate, willing to content the people, releafed Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jefus, when he had scourged bin, to be crucified.

17 And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,

18 And began to falute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

19 And they fmote him on the head with a ree, and did fpit upon him, and bowing their knees, worshipped him.

20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who paffed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear

his crofs.

22 And they bring him unto the place Gol gotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.

24 And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, cafting lots upon them, what every man should take.

25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

26 And the fuperfcription of his accufation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27 And with him they crucity two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

ND when the fabbath was paft,

34 And at the ninth hour Jefus cried with a loud voice, faying, Bloi, Eloi, lama fabachthani, which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why haft thou torfaken me!

35 And fome of them that stood by, when they heard it, faid, Behold, he calleth Elias. 36 And one ran, and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, faying, Let alone: let us fee whether Elias will come to take him down, 37 And Jefus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

39¶ And when the centurion, which flood over against him, faw that he fo cried out, and gave up the ghoft, he faid, Truly this man was the Son of God.

40 There were also women looking on afar off; among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the lefs, and of Jofes, and Salome;

41 (Who alfo, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerufalem.

42 And now when the even was come, (because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the fabbath)

43 Jofeph of Arimathea, an honorable counsellor, which alfo waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jefus.

44 And Pilate marvelled if he were al ready dead and calling unto bim the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Jofeph.

46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a fepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the docr of the fepulchre.

47 And Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of Jofes, beheld where he was laid. CHAP. XVI.

1 An angel declareth the refurreƐlion of Chrift to three women: 9 he appeareth to Mary Magdalene, 12 to two others going into the

James, and Salome, had bought fweet fpices, that they might conie and anoint him.

2 And very early in the morning, the firft day of the week, they came unto the fepul chre at the rifing of the fun.

3 And they faid among themselves, Who fhall roll us away the fone from the door of the fepulchre?

4 And when they looked, they faw that the ftone was rolled away: for it was very great.

5 And entering into the fepulchre, they faw a young man fitting on the right fide, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6 And he faith unto them, Be not affrighted. Ye feek Jefus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is rifen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

7 But go your way, tell his difciples and Feter, that he goeth before you into Galilee; there thall ye fee him, as he faid unto you

8 And they went out quickly, and fled from the fepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither faid they any thing to any man; for they were atraid.

9 Now when 7efus was rifen early, the first day of the week, he appeared firit to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had caft feven devils.

10 And the went and told them that had been with hum, as they mourned and wept.

11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked,

and went into the country.

13 And they went and told it unto the refidue; neither believed they them.

14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they fat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbeliet and hardner's heart, because they believed not them which had feen him

15 And he faid unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized, shall be faved; but he that believeth not thall be damned.

17 And thefe figns fhall follow them that believe; in my name thall they caft out devils: they thall fpeak with new tongues;

18 They fhall take up ferpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they hall lay hands on the fick, and they thall recover.

19 So then, after the Lord had fpo ken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and fat on the right hand of God.

20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with "igns follow. ing. Amen.
