though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet will I not make a full end of thee," &c. 24. "And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him." How can the asertions and interpretations of the Sophists be consistent? for they maintain, that GOD will be vexed with Israel when the Messiah comes, and drive them to great extents; the opposite we learn through the Prophets, as in Isaiah, xi. 1." Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the LORD; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. For I am with thee, saith the LORD, to save thee:

the LORD, and the first-fruits of his increase: "all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD." The same says Zechariah, ii. 8. "For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye."

Further they interpret from Daniel's visions, that the kingdom of Judah shall be annihilated when the Messiah comes. Quite the contrary is proved by the Prophets; who say, that there shall only be one kingdom; namely, the kingdom of Israel, who are termed the consecrated of GOD, as stands in Numbers, xxiv. 17. "I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth." In Isaiah, xlix. 23.

And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.". lb. lx. 10—12. "And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted," &c. Daniel, vii. 27.
