Nous avons annoncé dans notre dernier avis que le Musée de peinture et de sculpture serait terminé à la 168o. livraison, plus les Loges du Vatican et les amours de Psyché d'après Raphaël, ainsi que les amours des Dieux d'après Titien et Jules Romain qui n'avaient pas été disséminés dans le cours des livraisons.

Comme nous attendons encore des dessins de musées étrangers pour compléter les livraisons 163 à 168, nous allons faire alterner avec ces livraisons à mesure qu'elles seront gravées, les collections de Raphaël, Titien et Jules Romain dont la gravure est plus avancée.

Ces trois collections qui formeront, savoir les Loges neuf livraisons, les amours de Psyché, six livraisons; et les amours des Dieux, trois livraisons porteront chacune une série particulière de numéro.

We have already announced that the Museum of Painting and Sculpture, would terminate at the 168th. number, excepting the addition of the boxes of the Vatican, and the history of Psyche after. Raphael, as also the loves of the Gods, after Titian, and Guilio Romano, which had not been treated of, in the course of the publication.

As we still wait for designs of foreign Museums, to complete the numbers from 163 to 168 we shall substitute (as they are engraved) the collections of Raphael, Titian, and Guilio Romano, which are in a much more forward state.

These three collections (which will form namely, the Vatican, nine numbers, the history of Psyche, six numbers, and the loves of the Gods, three numbers), will each compose a particular series.

RAPHAEL, THE HISTORIAN OF PSYCHE, that elegant mother of voluptuousness << the delight of Gods and Men » possessed the fortunate or rare talent of being able to exchange his Holy Families, and Chaste Virgins, his subjects of catholicism, and serious poetry, for the style of that of a relater of sensual tales.

In undertaking to complete and ornament the Apuleum the painter of Urban has chosen a path where it becomes delightful to follow him, and it is to point out the way, that the text of this publication particularly directs the attention.
