DRINK OFFERING.

Num. xv, 5, 7, 10-13. And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink-offering shalt thou prepare, with the burnt-offering or sacrifice, for one lamb. And for a drink-offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the LORD. And thou shalt bring for a drinkoffering half an hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. Thus shall it be done for one bullock, or for one ram, or for a lamb, or a kid. According to the number that ye shall prepare, so shall ye do to every one, according to their number. All that are born of the country shall do these things after this mauner, in offering an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.

Num. xxviii, 7, 14. And the drink-offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb; in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drinkoffering.

And their drink-offerings shall be half an hin of wine unto a bullock, and the third part of an hin unto a ram, and a fourth part of an hin unto a lamb:

this is the burnt-offering of every month throughout the months of the year.

2 Chron. xxix, 35. And also the burnt-offerings were in abundance, with the fat of the peaceofferings, and the drink-offerings for every burnt-offering. So the service of the house of the LORD was set in order.

PEACE-OFFERING.

Exod. xxxiv, 25. Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning.

Lev. ii, 11. No meat-offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire.

Lev. vi, 17. It shall not be baken with leaven: I have given it unto them for their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin-offering, and as the trespass-offering.

DIFFERENT KINDS OF

SACRIFICE.
BURNT-OFFERING.

Exod. xxix, 18, 25. And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt-offering, for a sweet savour before the LORD: it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Lev. vi, 9. Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt-offering: It is the burnt-offering, because of the burning upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning in it.

Lev. ix, 16. 20. And he brought the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the manner. And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar.

Lev. iil, 1-16. And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace-offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD. INSTANCES OF SACRIFICES.

1 Sam. xi, 15. And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.

2 Sam. vi, 13. And it was so, that, when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

1 Kings viii, 5, 62, 63. And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude. And the

THE DAILY SACRIFICE.

Exod. xxix, 38-42. Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year, day by day continually. The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning, and the other lamb thou

shalt offer at even: And with the one lamb a tenth-deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oll; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering. And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and

Ezra ii, 4. They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt-offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required.

guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, and give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering. And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto the LORD, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest: And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him, for any thing of all that he bath done, in trespassing therein.

Lev. vii, 1-6. Likewise this is the law of the trespass-offering, it is most holy. In the place where they kill the burnt-offering shall they kill the trespass-offering: and the blood thereof shall he sprinkle round about upon the altar. And he shall offer of it all the fat thereof; the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul that is above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away: And the priest shall burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire unto the LORD: it is a trespass-offering. Every male among the priests shall eat thereof: it shall be eaten in the holy place: it is most holy.

INSTANCES OF SACRIFICES.

1 Sam. xi, 15. And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the LORD in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the LORD; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.

2 Sam. vi, 13. And it was so, that, when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

1 Kings viii, 5, 62, 63. And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude. And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD. And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he of fered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

Ezra viii, 35. Also the children of those that had been carried away, which were come out of the captivity, offered burnt-offerings unto the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety and six rams, seventy and seven lambs, twelve he-goats for a sinoffering: all this was a burntoffering unto the LORD.

THE DAILY SACRIFICE.
Exod. xxix, 38-42. Now this is
that which thou shalt offer upon
the altar; two lambs of the first

one lamb a tenth-deal of flour
mingled with the fourth part of

feast of tabernacles, as it is writEzra iii, 4. They kept also the ten, and offered the daily burnt-offerings by number, according to the custom, as the duty of every day required.

Ezek. xlvi, 13-15. Thou shalt daily prepare a burnt - offering unto the LORD of a lamb of the first year without blemish: thou shalt prepare it every morning. And thou shalt prepare a meat-offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of an hin of oil, to temper with the fine flour; a meat-offering continually, by a perpetual ordinance, unto the LORD. Thus shall they prepare the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning, for a continual burnt-offering.

THE DOUBLE SACRIFICE OF THE
SABBATH.

Num. xxviii, 9, 10. And on the sabbath-day two lambs of the first year without spot, and two tenthdeals of flour for a meat-offering, mingled with oil, and the drink-offering thereof. This is the burntthe continual burnt-offering, and offering of every sabbath, besides his drink-offering.
