Sea, when it cannot reft, whofe Waters caft up Mire and Dirt.

a The Spirit of a Man will fuftain his Infirmity: But a wounded Spirit who can bear?

They that are in the Flefh cannot please God. If ye forfake the Lord, he will caft you off for ever he will love you no more. God is angry with the wicked every Day: The foolifh fhall not ftand in his Sight: He hateth all Workers of Iniquity.

The Lord is far from the wicked. Their Iniquities have feparated between them and their God; and their Sins have hid his Face from them, that he will not hear. And, woe unto them (faith the Lord) when I depart from them.

d As the wicked do not like to retain God in their Knowledge, God giveth them over to a reprobate Mind, to do thofe things which are not convenient. For this Caufe, alfo, God fhall fend them ftrong Delufion, that they should believe a Lie; that they all may be damned that believe not the Truth, but have Pleasure in Unrighteousness.

The wicked are referved to the Day of Deftruction They fhall be brought forth to the Day of Wrath. They fhall be turned into Hell, where their Worm dieth not, and the Fire is not quenched; but the Wrath of God abideth on them.

a Behold,

Behold, the Day cometh; when the Son of Man fhall fend forth his Angels, and they shall gather, out of his Kingdom, all things that of fend, and them which do Iniquity; and fhall caft them into a Furnace of, Fire: There fhall be wailing and gnashing of Teeth.

b In that Day fhall the Lord Jefus be revealed from Heaven, with his mighty Angels, in flaming Fire, taking Vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jefus Chrift: who fhall be punished with everlasting Destruction, from the Prefence of the Lord, and from the Glory of his Power.

Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his Saints, to execute Judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among Men, of all their ungodly Deeds, which they have committed, and of all their hard Speeches, which ungodly Sinners have spoken against him.

d The Day of the Lord cometh with Wrath, and fierce Anger: And he will punish the World for their Evil, and the wicked for their Iniquity. The Day of the wicked fhall come, when their Iniquity fhall have an end: And the Lord fhall take from them their Strength, the Joy of their Glory, the Defire of their Eyes, and that whereupon they fet their Minds. a And in thofe Days fhall Men seek Death, and fhall not find it: and shall defire to die, and Death fhall flee from them.

b And the Kings of the Earth, and the great Men, and the rich Men, and the chief Captains, and the mighty Men, fhall fay to the Mountains and Rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the Face of him that fitteth on the Throne, and from the Wrath of the Lamb: For the great Day of his Wrath is come; and who fhall be able to ftand?

c Then the unbelieving, and the abominable, and Murtherers, and Whoremongers, and Idolaters, and Liars, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, fhall be caft into the Lake of Fire: where they shall be tormented with Fire and Brimstone; and they have no Reft Day nor Night; and the Smoke of their Torment afcendeth up for ever and ever.

d Now confider this, ye that forget God; left Judgment and Juftice take hold on you, andthere be none to deliver: For it is a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the living God.

e Rejoice, O young Man, in thy Youth, and let thy Heart chear thee in the Days of thy Youth, and walk in the Ways of thy Heart, and in the Sight of thine Eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into Judgment,

feeth me: Evil fhall come upon thee, thou shalt not know from whence it rifeth; and Mischief fhall fall upon thee, thou shalt not be able to put it off.

a Go to now, ye rich Men, who have lived in Pleasure on the Earth, and been wanton; who by Fraud have kept back the Hire of the Labourers, and have condemned the juft: Weep and howl for your Miferies that fhall come upon you. Your Riches are corrupted; your Gold and Silver is cankered, and the Ruft of them shall be a Witness against you ye have heaped Treasure together for the laft Days; ye have nourished your Hearts, as in a Day of Slaughter.

b Hear the Word of the Lord, ye fcornful Men: Because ye have faid, We have made a Covenant with Death, and with Hell are we at Agreement: when the over-flowing Scourge shall pafs through, it fhall not come unto us; for we have made Lies our Refuge, and under Falfhood have we hid our felves: Therefore thus faith the Lord God; your Covenant with Death fhall be difannulled, and your Agreement with Hell fhall not ftand; when the over-flowing Scourge fhall pass through, then ye fhall be trodden down by it. Now therefore be ye not Mockers; left your Bands be made strong.

c Thinkeft thou this, O Man, that doeft fuch things as are worthy of Death, that thou shalt efcape the Judgment of God? Defpife not the Forbearance and Long-fuffering of God; but let his Goodness lead thee to Repentance: otherwife thou treasureft up unto thy felf Wrath against the

Day of Wrath, and Revelation of the righteous Judgment of God.

a Behold the Day, behold it is come; the Day of Trouble is near. The Lord will fhortly pour out his Fury upon thee, and accomplish his Anger upon thee: And he will judge thee according to thy Ways, and will recompenfe thee for: all thine Abominations.

b Let now the Aftrologers, the Star-gazers, the monthly Prognofticators, ftand up, and fave thee from those things that fhall come upon thee. Behold, they fhall be as Stubble; the Fire fhall burn them; they fhall not deliver themselves from the Power of the Flame.

All the Sinners fhall die which fay, The Evil fhall not overtake, nor prevent us. Deftrution cometh, and they hall feek Peace, and there fhall be none. He that fleeth of them fhall not flee away; and he that efcapeth of them fhall not be delivered.

d Their Silver and their Gold fhall not be able to deliver them in the Day of the Wrath of the Lord: And then they fhall know that God is the Lord, and that he hath not faid in vain, That he would do this Evil unto them.

Let us therefore lay these things to our Heart, and remember, That the Pleasures of Sin are but for a Season, and that it will be Bitterness in the latter end: And, what is a Man profited, if he fhall gain the whole World, and lofe his own Soul? or, What fhall a Man give in exchange for his Soul?
