The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.-PSALM li. 17.

OBEDIENCE.

YE shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve Him, and cleave unto Him.-DEUT. xiii. 4.

Now, therefore, fear the Lord, and serve Him in sincerity and in truth.—JOSHUA xxiv. 14, first clause.

This thing commanded I, saying, Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be My people and walk ye in all

OBEDIENCE.

For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.-ROMANS ii. 13.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.-ST. Matt. vii. 21.

And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another as He gave us commandment.

the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.―JER. vii. 23.

And now what doth the Lord Thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

To keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes.-DEUT. 10, 12, 13, to last clause.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.-1 SAM. XV. 22, last clause.

And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him.

And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.1 ST. JOHN iii. 23, 24.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.-PHIL. iv. 13.

Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say?

Whosoever cometh to Me, and heareth My sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation
