If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.-JOB xiv. 14.

Now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again?

I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me. -2 SAM. xii. 23.

Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down; he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.-JOB xiv. 1, 2.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.-] ST. JOHN iii. 2.

--God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.-ST. JOHN iii. 16, 17.

Our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby

One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.

And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure. They shall lie down alike in the dust.JOB Xxi. 23, 25, 26, first clause.

Man being in honour abideth not; he is like the beasts that perish.

Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them, and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.

But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave.-PSALM xlix. 12, 14, first and last clauses, 15, first clause.

He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.-PHIL. iii. 20, 21.

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.REV. xiv. 13.

Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with Me where I am: that they may behold My glory which Thou hast given Me; for Thou lovedst Me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known Thee; but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent Me.

And I have declared unto them Thy name, and will declare it, that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them. ST. JOHN Xvii. 24-26.

INCREASE OF GRACE.

BEHOLD, I have longed after Thy precepts, quicken me in Thy righteousness.-PSALM cxix. 40.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God.-PSALM xlii. 2, first clause.

Ho! every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters.-ISAIAH lv. 1, first clause.
