DEPRESSION OF SPIRITS. Turn Thee unto me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged, O bring Thou me out of my distresses.— PSALM XXV. 16, 17. My soul is also sore vexed: but Thou, O Lord, how long? Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh, save me, for Thy mercies' sake.-PSALM vi. 3, 4. Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry: hold not Thy peace at my tears.-PSALM xxxix. 12, first and second clauses. My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God ?"-PSALM xlii. 3.
