will of God. Paul's will be a glorious crown-Paul's will be a glorious body. All will have glorious crowns -all will have glorious bodies. These things Christ has secured for all mankind; nevertheless, forget not, ye who labour without ceasing, ye to whom the gospel is preached; it is preached to you, that, like Paul, your light afflictions which are but for a moment, might work out for you a far more exceeding, even an eternal weight of glory. Ye are cast upon a time of the world's history in which there will be ample opportunity to work for yourselves a crown of righteousness. Hast thou the Spirit of thy Master? then thou wilt desire to be as near Him as it is possible for the servant to approach his Lord. It is your Lord's pleasure that you be with Him where He is Himself, that you may behold His glory, the glory which He had with His Father before the world was. Oh! believers, awake, arise, go forth clothed with the mind of Christ: this is thy encouragement; hear what thy Redeemer saith to all that love Him in the present day-"The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live." (John v. 25.) the saying, "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." Believest thou this? Dost thou believe that there be some standing on the earth who shall not. taste of death, but shall be like Enoch, walking with God; having this testimony, that with them God is well pleased; who shall not sleep, but who shall all be changed? As in the days of Elijah, when the great and strong wind shall have rent the mountains and broken in pieces the rocks; when the earthquake shall have done its work, and scattered the powers of darkness like dust to the four winds of heaven;

Then shall be fulfilled

when the fire shall have finished its burning, having consumed that woman Jezebel and the priests of Baal; when the seven thousand--that is, all the thousands of Israel-shall have gone forth to battle and slew every one his man-that is, when every believer shall have been made perfect through suffering-shall have brought his own spirit (which is by nature a disobedient spirit) under subjection to the Father of spirits; when thus the whole earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, and when one acclamation of ceaseless hallelujahs and long continued praises shall ascend from every heart, from every home, from every kindred, from every nation, from every tongue, from every people; when the still small voice comes out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye His servants, and ye that fear Him, both small and great; then shall be heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of many thunderings, saying, Alleluia, for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice and give honour to Him. They who believe then shall never die. "Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." (John v. 28, 29.) For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain, like Elijah of old, shall behold a chariot of fire and horses of fire, which shall part asunder the earthy bodies of those who wait the appearance of their Lord, and separating for ever the weak, the creature nature from its earthy tabernacle, shall catch up every man and every woman-the new

creature of each into the air; then shall be the great bridal day for which all other days were made; then the union, the reconciliation of all things shall take place, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. The Father will appear with His angels who are the brightness of His glory, and they shall be one. The Son will appear with His saints who are the brightness of His glory, the express image of His person, and they shall be one. Heaven, the state of angels, shall be a state of eternal hallelujahs, for they shall worship Him who sitteth upon the throne and also the Lamb. They shall worship the Father and the Son, and they shall honour the Son as they honour the Father. Earth, the state of redeemed men, the saints of God, shall fall down before Him that sitteth on the throne, and worship Him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour, and power, for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. The Father and the Son are one; so, in like manner, the glory of the Father and the glory of the Son shall be one: angels and saints shall be eternally one. Oh, my soul! my soul! be stirred up, even all that is within me, to bless the Lord and His holy name! Those angels who were ministering spirits to the heirs of salvation, unto whom by themselves God hath not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak; these, each one by his rod, shall have called into being a tabernacle for himself. Gabriel shall have his fellow, his equal; but there shall be only one like him, for he showed that which is noted. in the scripture of truth; and there is none that holdeth with him in these things but Michael the prince-the great prince who at the time of the end should be made

like unto the Son of God, and stand up for the children of the people of the saints of the Most High. But every angel will have his fellow-man, and every man will have his fellow-angel, the one made for the other, the one made out of the other; the angelic glory, the Father; the human glory, the Son; as Father and Son, as Husband and Wife, as Brother and Brother, as no longer separate and distinct spirits, but one for ever in the Lord; angels and men-each angel and each manall angels and all men-shall, throughout eternal ages, declare the truth, and the mystery of that invisible union which, from everlasting to everlasting, subsists between the Father and the Son. Heaven and earth shall be one. The ladder, of which Jacob's was but a figure, shall then be in truth set up. It shall connect the heaven of glory with the earth of glory. Then shall be fulfilled all the counsel and pleasure of Jehovah which the Father purposed, when in the beginning He created the heaven and the earth; therein declaring the end from the beginning. For in Christ it is that all things have been done; He hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins; who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature; for by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers; all things were created by Him and for Him; and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church; who is the beginning, the first-born from the dead; that in all things He might have the pre-eminence. For it

pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell, and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself-by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth or things in heaven. Then shall the Son also Himself be subject willingly, cheerfully, for He was manifested to do the Father's will; He shall be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all; the Father in the Son, and the Son in the Father, all in all; the Father in angels, and angels in the Father, all in all; the Son in men, and men in the Son, all in all; angels in men, and men in angels, all in all; thus God, our God, even our own God, our everlasting Father, will be all in all. Then shall be seen and heard the voice of many angels round about the throne, and the living ones, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands. Saying, with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four living ones said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that liveth for ever and ever. And so all Israel shall be saved. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the
