VI.

WE are consumed by thine anger, and by

thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. [Psalm xc. 7, 8.]

XI.

HE face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them

all.

XII.

THE LORD hath done great things for us ; whereof we are glad.

Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again. with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

HA

APPY is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty.

ENTER not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.

AN unjust man is an abomination to the just and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

Blessedness of the Righteous.

I.

BLESSED is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

[Psalm xxxii. 1, 2.]

II.

BLESS the LORD, O my soul: and all that

is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

III.

[Psalm ciii. 1-6.]

KNOW therefore this day, and consider it

in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath there is none else.

Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days. [Deuteronomy iv. 39, 40.]

HE LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
