Quoniam autem Hic Deus eft Pater Domini noftri Jefu Chrifti; & de hoc Paulus Apoftolus dixit, Unus Deus Pater, qui fuper omnes, & per omnia, & in omnibus nobis. Jam quidem oftenimus unum effe Deum;

If perhaps fome of them C. 35. p. may repent, and be con-113. verted to that Being who is the only Creator and God, the maker of the Univerfe, and fo may be fav'd.

We have alfo declar'd L. II præf already, that there is one P. 113. God, the Creator, and that he is not the effect of any late Being, and that neither is there any Being above him, or after him.

Nor was he excited to C. 1. D. create any other Being, but 114, c. of his own good will, and voluntarily did he make all things; feeing he is the only God, and the only Lord, and the only Creator, and the only Father; he alone fustaining all things, and giving all things their very Beings, &c.

But that this God is c. 3. pi the Father of our Lord 118, Jefus Chrift, Paul faid, There is one God the Father, who is over all, and through all, and in us all. We have now demonftrated, that there is but one God: Yet will we farther demonstrate it

Non decet autem eum qui fuper omnia fit Deus, cum fit liber & fua poteftatis, neceffitati ferviffe dicere. 122,123, Quomodo autem ignorabant vel angeli aut mundi fabicator Primum Deum, quando in ejus propriis effent, & creatura exifterent ejus, & continerentur ab ipfo ?-Ratio mentibus infixa movet ea, revelat eis quoniam eft unus Deus omnium Dominus; & propter boc Altiflimi & Omnipotentis appellationi omnia fubjecta funt; & bujus invocatione etiam ante adventum Domini noftri falvabantur bomines, & a fpiritibus nequiffimis, & a demoniis univerfis, & ab apoftafia univerfa. from the Apostles themfelves, and from the Dif courses of our Lord. 'Tis not proper to affirm, that the God who is over all, who is free, and at his own difpofal, is a flave to Neceflity. But how could either the Angels, or the framer of the World be ignorant of the primary God? Since they were under his Jurif diction, and were his Creatures, and were contained by him. -Reason implanted in their Minds perfwades them, and reveals this to them, That there is one God, the Lord of all, and therefore is it that all things are fubject to the Name of the Higheft, and of the Almighty. And by the Invocation of him it was that Men were faved, even before the coming of our Lord, both from wicked Spirits, and a vast number of Dæmons, and from their grand Apoftacy. Not as if the Terrestrial Spirits or Dæmons had feen him : But because they knew there was a God oyer all, at whofe Name

Quoniam impoffibile eratab alio quodam præter primum Deum fabricari bunc mundum oftendimus.Si non fixerimus fenfum in Unum Artificem, &in Unum Deum, qui a femetipfo fecit ea quæ facta funt. Neque igitur extra primum Patrem, id eft qui fuper omnia eft Deus, pleroma aliquid elle poteft.

We have demonftrated, that it was impoffible that this World could be fram'd by any other Being, but the primary God. If we do not fix our Minds upon one Artificer, and upon one God, who of himself made thofe things that are made.

Therefore there can be no plenitude no plenitude out of the primary Father, that is him who is God over

all.

And truly they did not believe that he who is God over all, did, among the reft, frame thofe various and difagreeing things that we fee, by his Word.-'Tis alfo eafie to demonftrate the fame thing from the very Words of our Lord, who owns one Father, both the Maker of the World, and the Former of Man; who was declar'd by the Law and the Prophets; and who knows no other; and that he is God over all.

Whereas therefore all the Scriptures, both Prophetical and Evangelical, do Preach plainly, and without any Ambiguity, and fo that all Men may equally hear them, tho' all do not believe, that the one and only God, to exclude others, has, by his Word, made all things, whether they be vifible, or invisible; whether they be celeftial, or terreftrial; whether they be in the Waters, or beneath the Earth; as we have demonftrated from the exprefs Words of Scripture: That Creation alfo it felf, in which we

The Preaching of the C. 47. p. Apoftles is plain, that he 173, 6. alone is truly the God and Father, who both made this World, and formed Man, and made his Productions increase, c.

Or elfe, (which indeed c. 5. p. is alone the truth,) he by 184, 185. himfelf did freely, and by his own Power make, and difpofe of, and compleat all things; and his Will is the fupport of all things. He alone is found to be the God who made all things. He alone is Almighty, and he alone is the Father, who created and made all things, both visible and invisible, fenfible and infenfible, celeftial and terreftrial, by the Word of his Power and who fitted and difpofed all things by his Wifdom, and who contains all things; but he alone can be contained by none. He is the great Framer, and Creator, and Inventor, and Maker. He is Lord of all, bricator:
