We follow the only unbegotten God, through his Son. But those which made ufe of Magick Arts before, have now devoted themselves to the good and unbegotten God.

And they dedicated themfelves to the unbegot ten God through Christ.

Justin fays well in his Difcourfe againft Marcion, I would not have believ'd the Lord himfelf, had he preached any other God befides him that created, and made, and nourishes

Us.

But because the only begotten Son came to us from that One God, who both made this World, and form'd us, and contains and governs all things, fumming up his own Workmanship in himfelf, my Faith towards him is firm, and my Love towards the Father immoveable; God affording them both to us. See Paranet. §. 15, &c. p. 76, &c. & De Monarchia, throughout.

God is the Author of all intelligible Beings, having no Colour, nor Form, nor Magnitude, nor any of those Qualities which are feen by the Eyes ; but

is a real Being, Beyond all Subftance, not to be defcrib'd by Words, or Difcourfe, but only a Being compleatly good. Becaule they glorified p. 125. that God and Father who was the maker of the univerfe, and preached Christ his Son who came from him.

'Tis manifeft to us all, that thefe words, No one shall see God, are fpoken concerning the invifible Father, the maker of the Univerfe.

But when we hold to the Rule of Truth, that is, That there is one God Almighty, who created all things by his Word.He who made the World for the World confifts of all things: He who formed Man: He who is the God of Abraham, the God of Ifaac, and the God of Jacob Superior to whom there is not any other God, or Principle, or Virtue, or Plenitude. This is the Father of our Lord Jefus Christ, Almoft all the Herefies, how numerous foever they are, affirm there is but one God: But they change him by their evil Opinions, as ungrateful to him that made them, as were the Gentiles by their Idolatry.
