recompensed unto him again? For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Or this:

| know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess

From the First General Epistle of that Jesus is the Son of God, God

St. John.

dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love Hereby dwelleth in God, and God in him.

man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.

Then he says,

. Let us bless the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Ry. Thanks be to Thee, O God, for Thy great mercy.
. But Thou, O God, have mercy upon us.

Ry. And forgive us our sins.

Then all kneeling, say the following Litany and Confession :

GOD the Father, eternal Fountain of all being;

Thou who didst so love the world as to give Thy only Son to redeem it;

Thou who hast prepared for us a glorious inheritance if we love Thee and keep Thy commandments,

Have mercy on us.

O God the Son, eternal Word of the Father;

Thou who, to save us sinners, tookest upon Thee the frail nature of man, and becamest obedient unto the death of the cross;

Thou who at the last and dreadful day wilt come with glory to judge the living and the dead,

Have mercy on us.

O God the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the Father and the Son;

Thou by whom wast wrought the glorious mystery of our Saviour's incarnation;

Thou who art the free Dispenser of all graces and spiritual consolations,

Have mercy on us.

O sacred Trinity, three Persons and one God, of equal glory and co-eternal majesty ;

11 St. John iv. 12.

O sacred Trinity, from whom, by whom, and in whom are all things;

O sacred Trinity, to whom all the angels and saints of heaven continually sing, Holy, Holy, Holy,

Have mercy on us.

Look down, O Lord, with compassion upon us miserable sinners, who confess and bewail the innumerable sins we have most grievously committed against Thee, by thought, word, and deed. Remember, not, O Lord, our offences, but Thy infinite mercy, and give us a true contrition for them all, that being turned from every evil way, we may by a sincere repentance obtain Thy peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We sinners do beseech Thee to hear us; and grant that as we have heard this day in Thy house of prayer what our duty is, we may, by Thy grace and help, be enabled to accomplish it;

That we may not be conformed to this world; but that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we may live soberly, justly, and piously;

We beseech thee to hear us, O Lord.

That we may crucify the flesh with its vices and lusts, and be ever clean of heart;

That being dead to sin, we may live unto righteousness, and arising with Thee, our Redeemer, may die no more;

We beseech Thee to hear us, O Lord.

And that it may please Thee to have mercy on our relations, friends, and benefactors, to open their eyes to see the beauty of Thy truth, and give them grace to embrace it.

That it may please Thee mercifully to look down from heaven on all those who suffer, and so to strengthen them in their affliction, that they may be led thereby to a more perfect love of Thee, and a stricter obedience to Thy commandments; We beseech Thee to hear us, O Lord.

And that Thou wouldst give to us and to all people the spirit of the Gospel, and inspire us all with a zeal for peace, unity, and truth;

We beseech Thee to hear us, O Lord.

O Lord, graciously hear these our prayers.

O Son of God, we beseech Thee to hear us, and have mercy upon us.

Here may be said the Prayer which is to be used when there has been Holy Communion (see Sunday Evening Prayers, page 22); and if Trinity Sunday should happen to fall on the Feast of St. Barnabas, he here says the special Collect for that festival (see Saint's-Day Morning Prayers).

Then he says the following Prayer and Collect for Trinity Sunday:

ALMIGHTY and ever-living God, whose divine perfections

and adorable mysteriousness we this day commemorate; graciously accept the humble tribute of praise and thanksgiving which we, Thine unworthy servants, have presumed to offer unto Thee. Pardon the sins, the coldness, and neglect, in worshipping Thee of which we have been guilty, and give us grace to avoid them for the future. And mercifully grant that the frequent meditation of Thy infinite goodness may force our wills to love Thee above all things; and the serious consideration of Thy incomprehensible majesty captivate our understanding to the obedience of faith, that we may here, in reverence to Thy word, believe what we do not see, and hereafter, in the blissful vision of Thy glory, see more than we now believe; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY and eternal God, who hast granted us Thy servants, by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of Thy majesty to worship the Unity; we beseech Thee that, by firmness in the same faith, we may be ever protected from all adversities; who livest and reignest ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Then he says the two Collects and Prayer for a blessing, as in Sunday or Week-day Evening Prayers (see pages 23, 74, 106).

Other Festivals and Saints' Days.

MORNING PRAYER.

All standing, the head of the family (or the priest or deacon, if present) says:

. O Lord, open Thou our lips.

Ry. And our mouth shall shew forth Thy praise.

. O God, make speed to save us.

Ry. O Lord, make haste to help us.

. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

Ry. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Then he says one of the following Psalms:
