9. through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end. Ps. cxix. 117. 112. Now the God of peace make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ. He. xiii. 20, 21. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way. Ps. xxxvii. 23.

9. Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus. Col. iii. 17. Through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Ep. ii. 18. Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you; hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John xvi. 23, 24.

X. A Prayer for the Queen's Majesty.

1. O Lord 1. I exhort, therefore, that, first of all, suppliour heavenly Father, high cations, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, and mighty, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that Kingof kings, Lord of lords, are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty; for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour. 1 Ti. ii. 1, 2, 3. Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Is. lxvi. 1. The heaven, even the heavens are the Lord's, but the earth hath he given to the children of men. Ps. cxv. 16. The Lord is the great King upon all the earth. Ps. xlvii. 2. O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen; and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee? 2 Ch. xx. 6. He hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Re. xix. 16. 2. Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! Ps. cxiii. 5, 6. The Lord looketh from heaven, he beholdeth all the sons of men: from the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. Ps. xxxiii. 13, 14. He that is higher than the highest regardeth. Ec. v. 8. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Pr. XV. 3.

Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward; but the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. 1 Sa. xvi. 13, 14. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. Is. xi. 2. Only the Lord give thee [Solomon] wisdom and understanding. 1 Ch. xxii. 12.

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, long to live; wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king; wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee, and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour. 2 Ch. i. 11, 12. Thou wilt prolong the king's life, and his years as many generations. O prepare mercy and truth which may preserve him. Ps. lxi. 6, 7. I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 2 Ki. xx. 6. He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour. Both riches and honour come of thee. 1 Ch. xxix. 28. 12.-See also, 1 Ki. iii. 9 to 14.-Ps. xxi. 4.

8. What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Mat. xvi. 26. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of city; through righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Ti. iv. 8. Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Co. ii. 9.
