LESSON VII.

MONDAY.-Deut. vii. 9.-Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.

TUESDAY.-Prov. iii. 5.-Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. iii. 6.—In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

THURSDAY.-Matt. vi. 6.-But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

FRIDAY.-Acts x. 2.--A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always.

SATURDAY.-2 Kings xvii. 36.-But the Lord, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.

SABBATH.-PS. lxviii. 4-Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.

LESSON VIII.

MONDAY.-Judges x. 10.-And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

TUESDAY.-Isa. i. 4.-Ah, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evil doers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.

WEDNESDAY.-Isa. lxv. 11.-But ye are they that forsake the Lord, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

THURSDAY.-Jer. ii. 12.-Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the Lord. FRIDAY. Jer. ii. 13.-For my people have committed two evils : they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns broken cisterns, that can hold no water. SATURDAY.-PS. xiv. 4.-Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.

SABBATH.-Heb. x. 25.-Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

MONDAY.-Ps. lxxix. 6.-Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

TUESDAY.-Jer. x. 25.-Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: WEDNESDAY.-Jer. xvii. 5.-Thus saith the Lord: Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. THURSDAY.-2 Kings i. 16.-And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord: Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to inquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. FRIDAY.-Dan. v. 23.-And thou hast praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know; and the god in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

LESSON X.

MONDAY.-Ex. xx. 4.-Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. TUESDAY.-Ex. xx. 5.-Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

WEDNESDAY.-Ex. xx. 6.—And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

THURSDAY.--PS. cxv. 4.—Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

FRIDAY.-PS. Cxv. 5.--They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

SATURDAY.-PS. cxv. 6.-They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

LESSON XI.

MONDAY.-Lev. xviii. 4.-Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.

TUESDAY.-Deut. xii. 32.-What things soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. WEDNESDAY.-Acts xv. 21.-For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

THURSDAY.-Matt. xxviii. 20.-Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

FRIDAY.-1 Cor. xii. 28.-And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

SATURDAY.-1 Tim. v. 17.—Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine. SABBATH.-Acts ii. 42.-And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
