Sleeping in Jesus.

LESSON XLVI.

MONDAY.-Acts ii. 26.-Therefore, did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: TUESDAY.-Isa. lvii. 2.-He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

WEDNESDAY.-Job vii. 21.-And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be. THURSDAY.-Dan. xii. 13.-But go thou thy way till the end be; for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. FRIDAY.-Acts vii. 60.-And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

SATURDAY.-Rev. vi. 11.-And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow-servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. SABBATH.-1 Thess. iv. 14.-For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

MONDAY.-Job xxi. 30.-That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? They shall be brought forth to the day of wrath. TUESDAY.-Isa. xlviii. 22.-There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. xi. 7.-When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

THURSDAY.-Prov. xiv. 32.-The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

FRIDAY.-Eccl. viii. 10.-And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done. This is also vanity. SATURDAY.-Luke xvi. 22.-And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom : the rich man also died, and was buried;

SABBATH.-Luke xvi. 23.-And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

The Resurrection.

LESSON XLVIII.

MONDAY.-Job xiv. 14.-If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. TUESDAY.-Isa. xxvi. 19.-Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

WEDNESDAY.-John v. 28.-Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, THURSDAY.-John v. 29.-And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

FRIDAY.-1 Cor. xv. 16.-For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

SATURDAY.-1 Cor. xv. 20.-But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept.

SABBATH.-1 Cor. xv. 52.-In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

MONDAY.-Ps. 1. 3.-Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

TUESDAY.-Ps. 1. 4.-He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

WEDNESDAY.-Matt. xxvi. 64.-Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

THURSDAY.-John xix. 37.-And again, another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

FRIDAY.-Acts i. 11.-Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. SATURDAY.-Rev. i. 7.-Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. SABBATH.-Rev. xx. 11. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

The judgment.

LESSON L.

MONDAY.-Eccl. xi. 9.-Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. TUESDAY.-Eccl. xii. 14.-For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

WEDNESDAY.-Matt. xii. 36.-But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. THURSDAY.-Acts xvii. 31.-Because he hath appointed a day in the which he will judge the world in righteousness, by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men in that he hath raised him from the dead.

FRIDAY.-2 Cor. v. 10.-For we must all appear before the judg

ment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. SATURDAY.-Rev. xx. 12.-And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. SABBATH.-Jude, ver. 15.-To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
