LESSON XXXVIII.

MONDAY.-1 Thess. iv. 4.-That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor.

TUESDAY.-Prov. v. 7.-Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. v. 8.-Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

THURSDAY.-2 Tim. ii. 22.-Flee also youthful lusts: but follow after righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

FRIDAY.-Col. iii. 5.-Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

SATURDAY.-Rom. xiii. 13.-Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying:

SABBATH.-Rom. xiii. 14.-But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

MONDAY.--Eph. v. 3.—But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

TUESDAY.—Eph. iv. 29.-Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

WEDNESDAY.-Prov. xxxi. 3.-Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

THURSDAY.-Ezek. xxiii. 14.—And that she increased her whoredoms: for when she saw men portrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermillion,

FRIDAY.-Ezek. xxiii. 16.—And as soon as she saw them with her eyes, she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.

SATURDAY.-Eph. v. 4.-Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. SABBATH.-Eph. v. 11.—And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Admonitions.

LESSON XL.

MONDAY.-Isa. iii. 16.-Moreover the Lord saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet;

TUESDAY.-Isa. iii. 17.-Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.

WEDNESDAY.-Ezek. xvi. 49.-Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom; pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy:

THURSDAY.-Ezek. xvi. 50.-And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

FRIDAY.-Prov. vii. 25.-Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

SATURDAY.-Prov. vii. 26.-For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

SABBATH.-Prov. vii. 27.-Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

MONDAY.-Ex. xx. 15.-Thou shalt not steal.

TUESDAY.-Lev. xix. 11.--Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.

WEDNESDAY.-Ex. xxii. 1.—If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep,

and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

THURSDAY.-John xii. 6.-This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

FRIDAY.-Ephes. iv. 28.-Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needest.

SATURDAY.--Gen. xliv. 8.-Behold, the money, which we found in our sack's mouth we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy Lord's house silver or gold?

SABBATH.-Ex. xxi. 16,-And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
