When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.-Matt. ii. 1—4.

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cæsar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?-John v. 45-47.

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should seventy not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.-Luke ii. 25, 26.
