that I may not be found guilty of breaking any of the Rules of Christian Meekness, Hua mility, Modesty, and Deference to Lawful Authority while I am aiming to promote, to the best of my Judgment and Ability, the Puríry of Christ's Religion among Men. And I must own that I am, upon Reflection sensible, that in several Expressions, and in many Cira cumstances of my Management, I have not

always kept within those strict Rules of the Gospel, which the Meekness and Gentleness of Christ, and of his Religion requires in fuchGases ;and that therefore I may sometimes have given Occasion of Offence to my Chris ftian Brethren, and to those in Authority in particular.': For which Faults, wherever they have appear'd, either by Word or Writing, I do heartily beg forgiveness of God, and of

all good Men. And I now add, that as I have aim'd since that time, not to break the promise I then made, That I would thenceforward be more careful not to be guilty of the same Fault afterward, so do. I again promise hereby to keep it, if poflible, Itill more faithfully for the time to come ; being heartily defirousthat I may by the Christian Manner, as well as Honeft Zeal of my future Procedure, endeavour to recommend these Sacred Truths and Books of Genuine Christianity to the World,

And now to conclude the whole, and detain the Reader no longer from the work it self, I must still add one thing more, viz. That fince I have now honestly discharg'd my Duty, baen faithful to my Trust, and laid my full Thoughts, Discoveries, and Evidence, before ther Christian World in these Four Volumes,
