How did the Egyptians treat the children of Israel? Very kindly for a number of years, and afterwards very cruelly.

What wicked command did Pharaoh give his people? He commanded them to cast the infant sons of Israel into a river

Who was hid three months by his mother, that he might not be cast into the river? Moses.

What did she then do with him? She put him into a lit tle ark or basket, and placed

it by the side of the river among the flags, Ex. 2:3.

Who found him? Pha raoh's daughter, Ex. 2:10.

How did she treat hini? She adopted him for her son, Acts 7:21.

To whom did she com mit him for nursing? To his mother.

In what did he become learned? In all the wisdom of the Egyptians.

Why did he refuse to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter? He chose rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to en. joy the pleasures of sin for

a season, Heb. 11:25.

Why did Moses slay an Egyptian? For smiting one of the Hebrews.

'Who were the Hebrews! The Israelites.

Why was not Moses slain for killing the Egyptian! He fled into Midian, Ex. 2:15.

Whose flock did he keep in Midian? Jethro's, Ex.3-1. Whom did Moses marry? Zipporah, Jethro's daughter.

LESSON 6.

How did God first appear to Moses? In a burning bush.

Why did God then appear to Moses? To send him into Egypt, to deliver the Hebrews from bondage, Ex. 3:10.

Whom did God send out of Egypt, to meet Moses, in order to go with him into Egypt, and assist him in delivering the Hebrews? Aaron, his elder brother, Ex.4:

How many plagues were sent upon the Egyptians, before Pharaoh would let Israel go? Ten.

What was the last and most dreadful of these plagues? Slaying all the

the land.

What judgment befel them? They died of the plague.

What Israelites murmured against God in the wilderness? Most of those who were above twenty years old. when they came out of Egypt.

What became of them? They were destroyed in the wilderness, Num. 26:65.

What was the character of those who were under 20 years old, when they came out of Egypt? They were generally pious, Jer. 2:2,3. Heb. 3:16.

Why did Balaam wish to go and curse Israel' He lov ed the wages of unrighteousness, 2 Fet 2:15.

By what was he rebuked for his iniquity? By the beast on which he rode, miraculously speaking, 2 Pet. 2:16.

Why did not Balaam curse Israel? The Lord would not permit him to do it.
