14 For, if ye forgive men their trefpaffes, your heavenly Father will alfo forgive you.

15 But if ye forgive not men their trefpaffes, neither will your Father forgive your

3 But when thou doft alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doth : 4 That thine alms may be in fecret: and thy Father which feeth in fecret, himself trefpaffes. fhall reward thee openly.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

II Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debters.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the

disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to faft. Verily, I fay unto you, they have their reward.

17 But thou, when thou fafteft, anoint thine head, and wash thy face:

18 That thou appear not unto men to faft, but unto thy Father which is in fecret: and thy Father which feeth in fecret, fhall reward thee openly.

19 Lay not up for your felves treafures upon earth, where moth and ruft doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and fteal.

20 But lay up for your felves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor ruft doth cor· rupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be alfo.

22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be fingle, thy whole body fhall be full of light.

23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body fhall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darknefs, how great is that darknefs!

24 No man can ferve two masters: for either he

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they fow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his ftature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Confider the lilies of the field how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin.

29 And yet I fay unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory, was not arayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore if God fo clothe the grafs of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is caft into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, Oye of little faith?

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the mor row fhall take thought for the things of it felf: fufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. CHAP. VII.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye fhall be judged: and with what meafure ye mete, it fhall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdeft thou the mote that is in thy brothers eye, but confidereft not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou fay to thy brother, Let me pull out the more out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, firft caft out the beam out of thine own eye; and then fhalt thou fee clearly to caft out the mote out of thy brothers eye.

6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither caft ye your pearls before fwine. left they trample them under their feet, and turn again and

31Therefore take no thought, 7 Ask, and it shall be faying, What fhall we eat? given you: feek, and ye fhall or what fhall we drink? or find: knock, and it shall be wherewithal fhall we be clo-opened unto you.

11 If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more fhall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12 Therefore all things whatfoever ye would that men Thould do to you, do ye even fo to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter ye in at the ftrait bate; for wide is the gate, and groad is the way that leadeth to deftruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because ftrait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadech unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of falfe prophets, which come to you in Theeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye fhall know them by their fruits: Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thiftles?

17 Even fo every good tree bringeth forth good fruit: but a corupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit: neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The leper healed.

22 Many will fay to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophefied in thy name? and in thy name have caft out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profefs unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 Therefore, whofoever heareth thefe fayings of mine, and doth them,I will liken him unto a wife man which built his houfe upon a rock:

25 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that houfe: and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth thefe fayings of mine, and doth them not, fhall be likened unto a foolish man which built his houfe upon the fand:

27 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that houfe: and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pass when Jefus had ended thefe fayings, the people were aftonished at his doctrine.

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the fcribes.

CHAP. VIII.

6 And faying, Lord, my fervant lieth at home fick of the palfie, grievously tormented. 7 And Jefus faith unto him, I will come and heal him.

15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and the arofe and miniftred unto them.

16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were poffeffed with devils: and he caft out the fpirits with his word, and healed all that were fick:

8 The centurion answered 17 That it might be fulfil and faid, Lord, I am not wor-led which was fpoken by Efaithy that thou fhouldft come as the prophet, faying, Him under my roof: but fpeak the felf took our infirmities, and word only, and my fervant bare our fickneffes. fhall be healed.

9 For I am a man under authority, having foldiers under me: and I fay to this man, Go, and he goeth: and to another, Come, and he cometh: and to my fervant, Do this, and he doth it.

IO When Jefus heard it, he marvelled, and faid to them that followed, Verily I fay unto you, I have not found fo great faith, no not in Ifrael.

11 And I fay unto you, that many fhall come from the eaft and weft, and fhall fit down with Abraham and Ifaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

12 But the children of the kingdom fhall be caft out into outer darkness: there fhall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

18 Now when Jefus faw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other fide.

19 And a certain fcribe came, and faid unto him, Mafter, I will follow thee whitherfoever thou goeft.

20 And Jefus faith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nefts ; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.

21 And another of his difciples faid unto him, Lord, fuffer me firft to go and bury my father.

22 But Jefus faid unto him, Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead.

23 And when he was entred into a fhip, his difciples followed him.

31 So the devils befought him, faying, If thou caft us out, fuffer us to go away into the herd of fwine.

32 And he faid unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of fwine: and behold, the whole herd of fwine ran violently down a fteep place into the fea, and perished in

the waters.

33 And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing; and what was befallen to the poffeffed of the devils.

34 And behold, the whole

9 And as Jefus paffed forth from thence,he faw a man named Matthew, fitting at the receit of cuftom: and he faith unto him, Follow me. And he arofe, and followed him.

10 And it came to pafs, as Jefus fat at meat in the houfe, behold, many publicans and finners came and fat down with him and his difciples.
