الصفحة 312 - Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
الصفحة 312 - For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
الصفحة 312 - And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity; so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
الصفحة 312 - If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
الصفحة 243 - Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men ! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
الصفحة 171 - Canst thou by searching find out God ? Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection ? It is as high as heaven ; What canst thou do ? deeper than hell ; What canst thou know ? The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
الصفحة 167 - In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord : my sore ran in the night, and ceased not : my soul refused to be comforted.
الصفحة 163 - I waited patiently for the LORD ; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay ; And he set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
الصفحة 310 - I tell you the truth, unless you are born again,* you cannot see the Kingdom of God.
الصفحة 310 - And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
