yr unig-anedig Fab, yr hwn sydd yn mynwes y Tad, hwnnw a'i hysbysodd ef.

19

A hon yw tystiolaeth Ioan, pan anfonodd yr Iuddewon o Jerusalem offeiriaid a Lefiaid i ofyn iddo, Pwy wyt ti?

20 Ac efe a gyffesodd, ac ni wadodd ; a chyffesodd, Nid myfi yw y Crist.

21 A hwy a ofynasant iddo, Beth ynte? Ai Elias wyt ti? Yntau a ddywedodd, Nag ê. Ai y Prophwyd wyt ti? Ac efe a attebodd, Nag ê.

22 Yna y dywedasant wrtho, Pwy wyt ti? fel y rhoddom atteb i'r rhai a'n danfonodd. Beth yr wyt ti yn ei ddywedyd am danat dy hun? 23 Eb efe, Myfi yw llef un yn gwaeddi yn y diffaethwch, Unionwch ffordd yr Arglwydd, fel y dywedodd Esaias y prophwyd.

24 A'r rhai a anfonasid oedd o'r Phariseaid.

25 A hwy a ofynasant iddo, ac a ddywedasant wrtho, Paham gan hynny yr wyt ti yn bedyddio, onid ydwyt ti na'r Crist, nac Elias, na'r prophwyd?

26 loan a attebodd iddynt, gan ddywedyd, Myfi sydd yn bedyddio â dwfr; ond y mae un yn sefyll yn eich plith chwi, yr hwn nid adwaenoch chwi :

27 Efe yw yr hwn sydd yn dyfod ar fy ol i, yr hwn a aeth o'm blaen i; yr hwn nid ydwyf fi deilwng i ddattod carrai ei esgid.

28 Y pethau hyn a wnaethpwyd yn Bethabara, y tu hwnt i'r Iorddonen, lle yr oedd Ioan yn bedyddio.

29 Trannoeth Ioan a ganfu yr Iesu yn dyfod atto; ac efe a ddywedodd, Wele Oen Duw, yr hwn sydd yn tynnu ymaith bechodau y byd.

30 Hwn yw efe am yr hwn y dywedais i, Ar fy ol i y mae gwr yn dyfod, yr hwn a aeth o'm blaen i: canys yr oedd efe o'm blaen i.

time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he

hath declared him.

19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that Prophet? And he answered, No.

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that Prophet?

26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world!

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me; for he was before me.

31 Ac myfi nid adwaenwn ef: 31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptiz ing with water.

eithr fel yr amlygid ef i Israel, i hynny y daethum i, gan fedyddio â dwfr.

32 Ac Ioan a dystiolaethodd, gan ddywedyd, Mi a welais yr Yspryd yn disgyn megis colommen, o'r nef, ac efe a arhosodd arno ef.

33 A myfi nid adwaenwn ef; eithr yr hwn a'm hanfonodd fedyddio â dwfr, efe a ddywedodd wrthyf, Ar yr hwn y gwelych yr Yspryd yn disgyn ac yn aros arno, hwnnw yw yr un sydd yn bedyddio â'r Yspryd Glân.

34 A mi a welais, ac a dystiolaethais mai hwn yw Mab Duw. 35 Trannoeth drachefn y safodd Ioan, a dau o'i ddisgyblion :

36 A chan edrych ar yr Iesu yn rhodio, efe a ddywedodd, Wele Oen Duw.

37 A'r ddau ddisgybl a'i clywsant ef yn llefaru, ac a ganlynasant yr Iesu.

38 Yna yr Iesu a droes; a phan welodd hwynt yn canlyn, efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Beth yr ydych chwi yn ei geisio? A hwy a ddywedasant wrtho ef, Rabbi (yr hyn o'i gyfieithu yw, Athraw) pa le yr wyt ti yn trigo?

39 Efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Deuwch a gwelwch. A hwy a ddaethant, ac a welsant lle yr oedd efe yn trigo, ac a arhosasant gyd âg ef y diwrnod hwnnw: ac yr oedd hi ynghylch y ddegfed awr. 40 Andreas, brawd Simon Petr, oedd un o'r ddau a glywsent hynny gan Ioan, ac a'i dilynasent ef.

4 Hwn yn gyntaf a gafodd ei frawd ei hun Simon, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Nyni a gawsom y Messias; yr hyn o'i ddehongl yw, Y Crist.

42 Ac efe a'i dug ef at yr Iesu. A'r Iesu wedi edrych arno ef, a ddywedodd, Ti yw Simon mab Jona: ti a elwir Cephas, yr hwn a gyfieithir, Carreg.

32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

35 Again the next day after, John stood, and two of his disciples;

36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Je

sus.

38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonas: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

43 Trannoeth yr ewyllysiodd yr Iesu fyned allan i Galilea; ac efe a gafodd Phylip, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Dilyn fi.

44 A Phylip oedd o Bethsaida, o ddinas Andreas a Phetr.

45 Phylip a gafodd Nathanäel, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Cawsom yr hwn yr ysgrifenodd Moses yn y gyfraith, a'r prophwydi, am dano, Iesu o Nazareth, mab Joseph.

46 A Nathanael a ddywedodd wrtho, A ddichon dim da ddyfod o Nazareth? Phylip a ddywedodd wrtho, Tyred a gwel.

47 Iesu a ganfu Nathanäel yn dyfod atto; ac a ddywedodd am dano, Wele Israeliad yn wir, yn yr hwn nid oes dwyll.

48 Nathanael a ddywedodd wrtho, Pa fodd y'm hadwaenost? Iesu a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Cyn i Phylip dy alw di, pan oeddit tan y ffigysbren, mi a'th welais di. 49 Nathanäel a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrtho ef, Rabbi, ti yw Mab Duw; ti yw Brenhin Israel. 50 Iesu a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrtho ef, O herwydd i mi ddywedyd i ti, Myfi a'th welais di dan y ffigysbren, a ydwyt ti yn credu? ti a gei weled pethau mwy nâ'r rhai hyn.

51 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrtho, Yn wir, yn wir, meddaf i chwi, Ar ol hyn y gwelwch y nef yn agored, ac angelion Duw yn esgyn ac yn disgyn ar Fab y dyn.

43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee. 49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

hwynt a watwarasant, gan ddywedyd, Eraill a waredodd efe; gwareded ef ei hun, os hwn yw Crist, etholedig Duw.

36 A'r milwyr hefyd a'i gwatwarasant ef, gan ddyfod atto, a chynnyg iddo finegr,

37 A dywedyd, Os tydi yw Brenhin yr Iuddewon, gwared dy hun. 38 Ac yr ydoedd hefyd arysgrifen wedi ei ysgrifenu uwch ei ben ef, â llythyrenau Groeg, a Lladin, ac Hebraeg, HWN YW BRENHIN YR IUDDEWON.

39 Ac un o'r drwg-weithredwyr a grogasid a'i cablodd ef, gan ddywedyd, Os tydi yw Crist, gwared dy hun a ninnau.

40 Eithr y llall a attebodd, ac a'i ceryddodd ef, gan ddywedyd, Onid wyt ti yn ofni Duw, gan dy fod dan yr un ddamnedigaeth?

41 A nyni yn wir yn gyfiawn; canys yr ydym yn derbyn yr hyn a haeddai y pethau a wnaethom: eithr hwn ni wnaeth ddim allan o'i le.

42 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrth yr Iesu, Arglwydd, cofia fi pan ddelych i'th deyrnas:

43 A'r Iesu a ddywedodd wrtho, Yn wir meddaf i ti, Heddyw y byddi gyd â mi ym mharadwys.

44 Ac yr ydoedd hi ynghylch y chweched awr, a thywyllwch a fu ar yr holl ddaear hyd y nawfed

awr.

45 A'r haul a dywyllwyd, a llen y deml a rwygwyd yn ei chanol.

46 TA'r Iesu, gan lefain â llef uchel, a ddywedodd, O Dad, i'th ddwylaw di y gorchymynaf fy yspryd. Ac wedi iddo ddywedyd hyn, efe a drengodd.

47 A'r canwriad, pan welodd peth a wnaethpwyd, a ogoneddodd Dduw, gan ddywedyd, Yn wir yr oedd hwn yn wr cyfiawn.

48 A'r holl bobloedd y rhai a ddaethant ynghyd i edrych hyn,

36 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar,

37 And saying, If thou be the King of the Jews, save thyself. 38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.

40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation ?

41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.

42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

45 And the sun was darkened, and the vail of the temple was rent in the midst.

46 T And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a right

eous man.

49 A'i holl gydnabod ef a safasant o hirbell, a'r gwragedd y rhai a'i canlynasent ef o Galilea, yn edrych ar y pethau hyn.

50 ¶ Ac wele, gwr a'i enw Joseph, yr hwn oedd gynghorwr, gwr da a chyfiawn:

51 (Hwn ni chyttunasai â'u cynghor ac â'u gweithred hwynt) o Arimathea, dinas yr Iuddewon (yr hwn oedd yntau yn disgwyl hefyd am deyrnas Dduw)

52 Hwn a ddaeth at Pilat, ac a ofynodd gorph yr Iesu.

53 Ac efe a'i tynnodd i lawr, ac a'i hamdôdd mewn llïan main, ac a'i rhoddes mewn bedd wedi ei naddu mewn carreg, yn yr hwn ni roddasid dyn erioed.

54 A'r dydd hwnnw oedd ddarpar-wyl, a'r sabbath oedd yn nesâu. 55 A'r gwragedd hefyd, y rhai a ddaethent gyd âg ef o Galilea, a ganlynasant, ac a welsant y bedd, a pha fodd y dodwyd ei gorph ef. 56 A hwy a ddychwelasant, ac a barottoisant bêr-aroglau ac ennaint; ac a orphwysasant ar y sabbath, yn ol y gorchymyn.

49 And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things.

50 ¶ And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just:

51 The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them: he was of Arimathea, a city of the Jews; who also himself waited for the kingdom of God.

52 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.

53 And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid.

54 And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. 55 And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid.

56 And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

2 A hwy a gawsant y maen wedi ei dreiglo ymaith oddi wrth y bedd. 3 Ac wedi iddynt fyned i mewn, ni chawsant gorph yr Arglwydd Iesu.

4 A bu, a hwy yn petruso am y peth hwn, wele, dau wr a safodd yn eu hymyl mewn gwisgoedd disglaer.
