21 A'r mab a ddywedodd wrtho, Fy nhad, pechais yn erbyn y nef, ac o'th flaen dithau; ac nid ydwyf mwy deilwng i'm galw yn fab i ti.

22 A'r tad a ddywedodd wrth ei weision, Dygwch allan y wisg oreu, a gwisgwch am dano ef, a rhoddwch fodrwy ar ei law, ac esgidiau am ei draed.

23 A dygwch y llo pasgedig, a lleddwch ef; a bwyttâwn, a byddwn lawen.

24 Canys fy mab hwn oedd farw, ac a aeth yn fyw drachefn ; ac efe a gollesid, ac a gaed. A hwy a ddechreuasant fod yn llawen.

25 Ac yr oedd ei fab hynaf ef yn y maes; a phan ddaeth efe a nesâu at y tŷ, efe a glywai gynghanedd a dawnsio.

26 Ac wedi iddo alw un o'r gweision, efe a ofynodd beth oedd hyn.

27 Yntau a ddywedodd wrtho, Dy frawd a ddaeth; a'th dad a laddodd y llo pasgedig, am iddo ei dderbyn ef yn iach.

28 Ond efe a ddigiodd, ac nid âi i mewn. Am hynny y daeth ei dad allan, ac a ymbiliodd âg ef. 29 Yntau a attebodd ac a ddywedodd wrth ei dad, Wele, cynnifer o flynyddoedd yr ydwyf yn dy wasanaethu di, ac ni throseddais i un amser dy orchymyn; ac ni roddaist fynn erioed i mi, í fod yn llawen gyd â'm cyfeillion:

30 Eithr pan ddaeth dy fab hwn, yr hwn a ddifâodd dy fywyd di gyd â phutteiniaid, ti a leddaist iddo ef y llo pasgedig.

31 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrtho, Fy mab, yr wyt ti yn wastadol gyd â mi, a'r eiddof fi oll ydynt

eiddot ti.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heav en, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things

meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment; and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 Rhaid oedd llawenychu, a gor- 32 It was meet that we should foleddu: oblegid dy frawd hwn make merry, and be glad: for oedd yn farw, ac a aeth yn fyw this thy brother was dead, and is drachefn ; ac a fu golledig, ac a alive again; and was lost, and is

PENNOD XVI.

C efe a ddywedodd hefyd wrth ei ddisgyblion, Yr oedd rhyw wr goludog, yr hwn oedd ganddo oruchwyliwr; a hwn a gyhuddwyd wrtho, ei fod efe megis yn afradloni ei ddâ ef.

2 Ac efe a'i galwodd ef, ac a ddywedodd wrtho, Pa beth yw hyn yr wyf yn ei glywed am danat? dyro gyfrif o'th oruchwyliaeth: canys ni elli fod mwy yn oruchwyliwr.

3 A'r goruchwyliwr a ddywedodd ynddo ei hun, Pa beth a wnaf? canys y mae fy arglwydd yn dwyn yr oruchwyliaeth oddi arnaf: cloddio nis gallaf, a chardotta sydd gywilyddus gennyf.

4 Mi a wn beth a wnaf, fel, pan y'm bwrier allan o'r oruchwyliaeth, y derbyniont fi i'w tai.

5 Ac wedi iddo alw atto bob un o ddyledwyr ei arglwydd, efe a ddywedodd wrth y cyntaf, Pa faint sydd arnat ti o ddyled i'm harglwydd?

6 Ac efe a ddywedodd, Càn mesur o olew. Ac efe a ddywedodd wrtho, Cymmer dy ysgrifen, ac eistedd ar frys, ac ysgrifena ddeg a deugain.

7 Yna y dywedodd wrth un arall, A pha faint o ddyled sydd arnat tithau? Ac efe a ddywedodd, Càn mesur o wenith. Ac efe a ddywedodd wrtho, Cymmer dy ysgrifen, ac ysgrifena bedwar ugain.

8 A'r arglwydd a ganmolodd y goruchwyliwr anghyfiawn, am iddo wneuthur yn gall: oblegid y mae plant y byd hwn yn gallach yn eu cenhedlaeth nâ phlant y goleuni. 9 Ac yr wyf yn dywedyd i chwi, Gwnewch i chwi gyfeillion o'r mammon anghyfiawn: fel, pan fo eisieu arnoch, y'ch derbyniont i'r tragywyddol bebyll.

10 Y neb sydd ffyddlawn yn y lleiaf, sydd ffyddlawn hefyd mewn

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

6 And he said, A hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in

llawer; a'r neb sydd anghyfiawn much: and he that is unjust in yn y lleiaf, sydd anghyfiawn hefyd | the least is unjust also in much. mewn llawer.

11 Am hynny, oni buoch ffyddlawn yn y mammon anghyfiawn, pwy a ymddiried i chwi am y gwir olud?

12 Ac oni buoch ffyddlawn yn yr eiddo arall, pwy a rydd i chwi yr eiddoch eich hun?

14 A'r Phariseaid hefyd, y rhai oedd ariangar, a glywsant y pethau hyn oll, ac a'i gwatwarasant ef.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things and they derided him.

:

15 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrthynt, Chwychwi yw y rhai sydd yn eich cyfiawnhâu eich hunain ger bron dynion; eithr Duw a ŵyr eich calonnau chwi: canys y peth sydd uchel gyd â dynion, sydd ffiaiddtion in the sight of God. ger bron Duw.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomina

16 Y gyfraith a'r prophwydi oedd hyd Ioan: er y pryd hwnnw y pregethir teyrnas Dduw, a phob dyn sydd yn ymwthio iddi.

17 A haws yw i nef a daear fyned heibio, nag i un tippyn o'r gyfraith ballu.

18 Pwy bynnag a ollyngo ymaith ei wraig, ac a briodo un arall, y mae efe yn godinebu; a phwy bynnag a brïodo yr hon a ollyngwyd ymaith oddi wrth ei gwr, y mae efe yn godinebu.

19 Yr oedd rhyw wr goludog, ac a wisgid â phorphor a llian main, ac yr oedd yn cymmeryd byd da yn helaethwych beunydd: 20 Yr oedd hefyd ryw gardottyn, a'i enw Lazarus, yr hwn a fwrid wrth ei borth ef yn gornwydlyd, 21 Ac yn chwennychu cael ei borthi â'r briwsion a syrthiai oddi ar fwrdd y gwr cyfoethog; ond y ewn a ddaethant, ac a lyfasant ci gornwydydd ef.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day :

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 A bu, i'r cardottyn farw, a'i ddwyn gan yr angelion i fynwes Abraham. A'r goludog hefyd a fu farw, ac a gladdwyd:

23 Ac yn uffern efe a gododd ei olwg, ac efe mewn poenau, ac a ganfu Abraham o hirbell, a Lazarus yn ei fynwes.

24 Ac efe a lefodd, ac a ddywedodd, O dad Abraham, trugarhâ wrthyf, a danfon Lazarus, i drochi pen ei fys mewn dwfr, ac i oeri fy nhafod canys fe a'm poenir yn y flam hon.

25 Ac Abraham a ddywedodd, Ha fab, coffa i ti dderbyn dy wynfyd yn dy fywyd, ac felly Lazarus ei adfyd; ac yn awr y diddenir ef, ac y poenir dithau.

26 Ac heb law hyn oll, rhyngom ni a chwithau y sicrhâwyd gagendor mawr: fel na allo y rhai a fynnent, dramwy oddi yma attoch chwi; na'r rhai oddi yna, dramwy attom ni.

27 Ac efe a ddywedodd, Yr wyf yn attolwg i ti gan hynny, O dad, ddanfon o honot ef i dŷ fy nhad: 28 Canys y mae i mi bump o frodyr fel y tystiolaetho iddynt hwy, rhag dyfod o honynt hwythau hefyd i'r lle poenus hwn.

29 Abraham a ddywedodd wrtho, Y mae ganddynt Moses a'r prophwydi; gwrandawant arnynt hwy. 30 Yntau a ddywedodd, Nag ê, y tad Abraham: eithr os â un oddi wrth y meirw attynt, hwy a edifarhânt.

31 Yna Abraham a ddywedodd wrtho, Oni wrandawant ar Moses a'r prophwydi, ni chredant chwaith pe codai un oddi wrth y meirw.

[blocks in formation]

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom : the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to, us, that would come from thence.

27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of tor

ment.

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

CHAPTER XVII.

It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come !

THEN said he unto the disciples,

2 It were better for him that a

maen melin o amgylch ei wddf ef, a'i daflu i'r môr, nag iddo rwystro un o'r rhai bychain hyn.

3 Edrychwch arnoch eich hunain: os pecha dy frawd yn dy erbyn, cerydda ef; ac os edifarhâ efe, maddeu iddo.

4 Ac os pecha yn dy erbyn seithwaith yn y dydd, a seithwaith yn y dydd droi attat, gan ddywedyd, Y mae yn edifar gennyf; maddeu iddo.

5 A'r apostolion a ddywedasant wrth yr Arglwydd, `Anghwanega ein ffydd ni.

6 A'r Arglwydd a ddywedodd, Pe byddai gennych ffydd gymmaint a gronyn o had mwstard, chwi a ellych ddywedyd wrth sycamorwydden hon, Ymddadwreiddia, a phlanner di yn y môr; a hi a ufuddhâi i chwi.

7 Eithr pwy o honoch chwi ag iddo was yn aredig, neu yn bugeilio, a ddywed wrtho yn y man pan ddêl o'r maes, Dos ac eistedd i lawr i fwytta?

8 Ond yn hytrach a ddywed wrtho, Arlwya i mi i swpperu, ac ymwregysa, a gwasanaetha arnaf fi, nes i mi fwytta ac yfed; ac wedi hynny y bwyttâi ac yr yfi dithau?

9 Oes ganddo ddiolch i'r gwas hwnnw, am wneuthur o hono y pethau a orchymynasid iddo? Nid wyf yn tybied.

10 Felly chwithau hefyd, gwedi i chwi wneuthur y cwbl oll ag a orchymynwyd i chwi, dywedwch, Gweision anfuddiol ydym: oblegid yr hyn a ddylasem ei wneuthur, a wnaethom.

11 ¶ Bu hefyd, ac efe yn myned i Jerusalem, fyned o hono ef trwy ganol Samaria a Galilea.

12 A phan oedd efe yn myned i mewn i ryw dref, cyfarfu âg ef ddeg o wŷr gwahan-gleifion, y rhai

a safasant o hirbell:

millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.

4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.

6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

7 But which of you, having a servant ploughing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

11 ¶ And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood

afar off:
